Filmmaking

Stories Told with
Impact.

Capturing your stories.
Film and audio are a core part of how we capture, document and share stories with wider audiences, both locally and digitally. Alongside our own productions, we are regularly commissioned by organisations, cultural partners and community groups to film and creatively document their projects, helping them tell their stories in compelling and accessible ways.
What We Make & Why Partners Choose Us.

We make films to help organisations demonstrate their impact, support campaign work and raise awareness of issues that matter deeply to the communities they serve.

Organisations come to Breaking Barriers because they trust us to tell those stories well. The subjects we work with are often complex and sensitive, requiring empathy, care and an understanding of the people at the centre of them. Paired with our creative ambition, we work closely with partners to ensure their communities and stories are told with care but are always at the highest standard, creating something they can be proud of.

Blurred Lines

A powerful film exploring Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE), encouraging young audiences to understand dangers of exploitation and grooming.

Consent Conversations

A series of films made in collaboration with Thames Valley Police exploring healthy relationships and consent amongst young people, created to spark meaningful discussions about respect, boundaries and communication.

Invisible Children

Commissioned by Children Heard & Seen, a charity supporting children affected by parental imprisonment. A film shining a light on the experiences of young people whose stories are often overlooked, bringing their perspectives and realities into focus.
Every film we make begins long before a camera is switched on.
We spend time with the people and communities at the centre of each project listening, building trust and understanding the story before we attempt to tell it. That process ensures the voices, experiences and nuances we gather find their way into the final film, resulting in work that is authentic, impactful and true to the people it came from.
We believe the people at the centre of a story should have power over how they are represented. That commitment to truth and dignity is what makes the final product something communities are genuinely proud of.

WHO IT'S FOR

If It Matters, It’s Worth Filming.
We work with police forces and violence reduction units who need young people to actually watch the thing. Local authorities and health bodies commissioning work on inequality, safeguarding or public health. Festivals, events and cultural programmes who need a film that sells tickets this year and stands as a record next year. Heritage and community organisations documenting a place, a tradition or a change while it’s still happening. And charities and community groups whose annual report doesn’t do justice to what they actually do.
Breaking Barriers brought unparalleled creativity, professionalism, and empathy to the project. Given the sensitive nature of the subject matter, combined with the sometimes chaotic filming environments—like the Reading Festival—it was essential to have a production company that could balance organisation, passion, and focus. Breaking Barriers excelled in this, ensuring I felt safe and comfortable at all times while seamlessly guiding me through my scripts and managing the recruitment of interview guests.
