A film that introduces young people to the themes of grooming, gang culture, un/healthy relationships and coercive behaviour.

about the project

Blurred Lines is a short film created by Breaking Barriers to introduce young people to the themes at the heart of Crossing the Line, grooming, gang culture, un/healthy relationships and coercive behaviour.

The film forms the first part of the Crossing the Line initiative, shown to young people before the live monologue. Its purpose is to prepare audiences for what they are about to experience and build familiarity with key themes and language so that when the 20-minute monologue begins, young people are ready to engage with it fully and meaningfully.

Together, Blurred Lines, the live monologue, and the facilitated discussion that follows create a layered experience. Each element builds on the last, giving young people the space to reflect, ask questions, challenge ideas, and develop a deeper understanding of how grooming and exploitation can affect them and those around them.
