The Project
Unlocked was a community-rooted digital storytelling project created with and for the young people of Gosport, giving them the space, the tools and the platform to share their voices, thoughts and experiences on their own terms.
Over the course of two months, Breaking Barriers worked alongside partner organisations in Gosport to engage young people through film and audio, gathering their stories and weaving them into an original piece of work.
The project culminated in a stunning live installation at Fort Brockhurst, where the walls of the historic keep came to life, animated by the voices and images of Gosport’s young people, projected across one of the town’s most beloved heritage sites.
Interested in bringing a project like Unlocked to your community? If you have a heritage site, a public space, or a community of young people whose voices deserve to be heard, we would love to talk. You can email us at hello@breakingbarriersrochdale.com.
